More from the road trip

The first two photos are from Crescent City, CA. We stayed there just one night in a little beachside B&B. Our next stop was Oregon's wine country in the Willamette Valley, and we finished with one short but wonderful day in Portland. The whole thing was heavenly from start to finish.

The path down to the beach cut through a lovely, exotic garden.

A sunset beach picnic was waiting for me.

Looking out onto a vineyard in Oregon.

The big, beautiful sky out there.

Have a great weekend!

Sonoma

Here are some more photos from our trip. Sonoma (specifically Healdsburg) was the first stop after San Francisco.

This is the typically gorgeous view from a winery:

This is the driveway that led to our little cottage:

Here's our hillside cottage, which overlooked a vineyard. If you look closely, you can spot my husband making coffee.

These are the vines that grew directly behind our cottage:

And here we are driving through the country, on our way to a tasting room. I like how the sun looks like a lollipop in this one.

I'm back in the studio after a truly unbelievable trip. I have a bunch of photos I want to show you, so I'll just post them in small batches throughout the week. Today's painting is of the scene in the early morning outside our little cottage near Mendocino, CA. This place really blew our minds. There is nothing like watching the sun roll down into the Pacific, drinking a beautiful bottle of wine, cozied up next to a fire with your favorite person. Even though this wasn't our first stop, I thought I'd post these photos first since this is the place that I painted today.
